When Bactroban Cream Should Not Be Used:
You should not use Bactroban Cream if you have had an allergic reaction to mupirocin.

How to Use Bactroban Cream:
Ointment, Cream

  • Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use and how often.
  • Mupirocin should not be applied to large open wounds or to burns.
  • Bactroban Cream is for use on your skin only. You should not use in or around eyes.
  • Wash and dry the treated area before application.
  • Put a thin layer of the ointment on your skin. Rub it in gently.
  • Bactroban Cream may be covered with a gauze bandage after it is applied.

If a dose of Bactroban Cream is missed:

  • Apply the missed dose as soon as possible.
  • If it is almost time for your next regular dose, wait until then to put the medicine on and skip the missed dose.
  • Do not apply two doses at the same time.

How to Store and Dispose of Bactroban Cream:

  • Store at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze.
  • Ask your pharmacist, doctor, or health caregiver about the best way to dispose of any outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed.
  • Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.
